Terms of Service

1. Account

• The account must be created by a person authorized to represent the customer company, with truthful information.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity in the account.
• Tell us immediately about any unauthorized use.

2. API keys

• API keys belong to the account and must not be shared, published in source code or used in end users’ browsers.
• The full key is shown only once; we store only a hash. Revoke any exposed key immediately.
• Lookups made with your keys are attributed to your account.

3. Acceptable use

You may look up a CPF only when you have a legal basis under the LGPD and a legitimate purpose, such as fraud prevention, identification and onboarding (KYC), security or compliance with a legal obligation. You must not:

• look up data out of curiosity, or to harass, stalk or expose people;
• use results for unlawful or abusive discrimination, including in hiring, credit or access to services, without a legal basis;
• resell, redistribute or build databases from results without a written agreement with quecpf;
• try to bypass quotas, limits or access controls, or test the service’s security without authorization;
• submit unlawfully obtained data.

State the purpose of each lookup in the "purpose" field. We may ask for evidence of the declared legal basis.

4. Quotas, limits and pricing

• Each account has a monthly lookup quota and a per-second request limit, shown in the dashboard.
• Lookups rejected for an invalid CPF, missing name or invalid IP are not charged. Lookups answered from our own database are charged normally.

5. Data accuracy

Responses combine third-party data and public lists that may be incomplete or outdated, and matching against lists that mask the CPF uses the middle six digits and the name, which can produce false positives or negatives.

Results are signals to support decisions, not decisions. You are responsible for confirming the information and for any decision based on it, including human review where the law requires it.

6. Data protection

For lookups, you are the controller and quecpf is the processor. You agree to:

• have a legal basis for each lookup and inform data subjects as the LGPD requires;
• truthfully declare the legal basis to enable full mode;
• handle data subject requests and forward to us those that concern us;
• protect results with appropriate security measures and keep them only as long as necessary.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account, or revoke full mode, for breach of these terms, suspected unlawful use, security risk or legal requirement. You may close your account at any time.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service available, but it is provided "as is", without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation. External sources may be unavailable; in that case the API answers with the data it has and reports the failure.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, quecpf’s total liability for damages related to the service is limited to the amounts paid by the customer in the 12 months before the event, and quecpf is not liable for lost profits or indirect damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Governing law and forum

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The courts of [FORO / FORUM CITY] have jurisdiction over disputes, unless the law provides otherwise.

11. Changes

We may change these terms. Material changes will be announced by email with reasonable notice; continued use after they take effect means acceptance.
